A Brief Overview of the Faculty

Faculty of Dentistry at Sohag University aspires to be among the leading educational institutions recognized regionally and internationally. The faculty is distinguished by its educational programs that follow the latest teaching and learning methods, serving diverse segments of society by providing graduates with advanced technical skills and a thorough understanding of scientific research methodologies.

Faculty of Dentistry at Sohag University aspires to produce distinguished graduates with high levels of clinical and research competence regionally and internationally, capable of effectively serving their community.

Mission

Through its distinguished program, Faculty of Dentistry at Sohag University seeks to prepare qualified scientific personnel in the field of dentistry, capable, through their scientific and practical excellence, of competing and keeping pace with modern scientific developments to meet the needs of the labor market and serve the community, as well as conducting scientific research and acquiring emerging skills.

 

Objectives

  • To prepare distinguished and qualified dentists to work in all sectors inside and outside Egypt
  • To provide outstanding service in treating oral and dental diseases and maxillofacial surgeries, especially for the residents of Sohag Governorate and the governorates of Upper Egypt
  • To develop the scientific and professional competence of dentists through ongoing workshops and scientific courses
  • Developing the capabilities of researchers in the field of dentistry and linking research to community needs and modern technologies
  • Organizing conferences, seminars, and mobile clinics to improve the education and training of dentists and the treatment of citizens

Campus Area

The building occupies an area of ​​6,000 square meters and consists of a basement, ground floor, and four upper floors. It includes three lecture halls, each with a capacity of 500 students, in addition to eight clinics, classrooms, multipurpose halls, administrative offices, and service facilities.

 

Human Rights

The course addresses customary rules that protect human rights and defend human dignity, promoting a life of happiness and rejecting violence. It explores the evolution of these customary rules into legal texts that guarantee these rights, which have developed in the modern era and become part of the international legal system under the name of international human rights law. The course also covers the types of corruption and methods for combating them.

Article (21) Implementing Provisions of the Regulations

  • The provisions of these regulations shall apply to students at the beginning of the academic year.
  • The faculty Council has the right to interpret the articles of these regulations, and all cases not addressed in these regulations shall be referred to the faculty Council for its consideration and proposal.

The matter is presented to the University Council for a decision on a case-by-case basis, in accordance with the Universities Organization Law and its implementing regulations.

  • The Faculty Council may propose amendments to the regulations, not exceeding 20%, subject to approval by the University Council after review by the relevant sector committee.
